Road or trail shoes?

The first section is flat, fast constructed track. If you consider that lots of folk do the whole West Highland Way race in road shoes, I think you would be fine with them here. I guess it all depends on weather conditions leading up to the event. If we had lots of rain then there could be sections that may be quite slippy and trail shoes would offer a little more traction.

Will the route be clearly marked?

Yes, there will be Clyde Stride markers at prominent points throughout the route. They are laminated A4 signs with the logo clearly visible. Outwith the race the route is sparsley marked. Carry a map or description for any reccy runs.

No, as this is a long distance trail race permission would be needed from the many various land owners. Route map is available in the links section with the distance markers clearly marked. There will also be three checkpoints along the route to which will enable some indication of progress.

Will there be marshalls other than at the check points?

There will be marshalls dotted across the route. There is a couple of pedestrian crossings which we will have manned to smooth the way. Marshalls cannot stop traffic.

Will I get my stuff back from checkpoints?

It is not recommended that you put anything of value in your dropbacgs. Where possible any leftover items will be transported to the finish. It should be pointed out however, this may be some considerable time after you have completed the race and cannot be guarenteed.

A small bag may be left at registration for transport directly to the finish. Race organisers will not be responsible for any items of value eg car keys or mobile phones.

Is there a bus from the finish to the train station in Lanark?Yes, a scheduled service runs from outside the Visitor Centre. The price is not included in the entry fee.

You can find the timetable here. The last bus is 16:42.

Can I get a train back to Glasgow or Partick?Yes, there is a direct service to Glasgow. You can find the timetable here.

Can I stay over after the race?Yes, a few beds are still available for the post race dinner and party. Please email the race address for more information.

Police have started investigation after local shopkeepers in Uttarakhand Almora said they had been delivered shoes in boxes bearing the Tricolour, allegedly from China.

The boxes have the Tricolour on top and the base carries some letters in Mandarin, police said, triggering speculation among locals that the move was aimed at humiliating Indians amid a tense standoff between the two countries at Doklam.

Almora Senior Superintendent of Police P Renuka Devi said putting the shoes in boxes with the national flag was an insult to the Tricolour and that they were investigating the matter.

Udham Singh Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police Sadanand Date said the police questioned the owner of Tammana Traders in Rudrapur,

who said that he bought the shoes from a distributor in Delhi and did not know their place of origin. would be questioning the dealer in New Delhi to ascertain the origin of these shoes said the SSP.

But the discovery of the boxes has sent the local population into a tizzy.

The case has been filed by the shopkeepers Bishan Bora against the shoe supplier of Rudrapur. Bora claimed as soon as he opened the consignment he found only seven seven shoe pair in proper box and rest of the pairs came in the tricolur box.

It looks like a bigger conspiracy. The party workers will keep an eye on the case until those culprits are not arrested Latwal said.

We now have our squad of 26 travelling to the World Cup and I would imagine that it was very difficult for the coaches to narrow the squad down from 32 to 26 such has been the competition at the training weekends.

It was very disappointing for the six girls not selected and although they were upset, they continued to train hard, knowing that if anyone got injured they were next in line.

We already have had our first casualty with prop Lauren Day breaking her wrist in our warm up for the Scotland game. It is bitterly disappointing for a player that has worked so hard on her fitness and skills in the last year and really was impressing at training.

Lauren won’t be just missed on the pitch but her personality off the pitch will be missed too. She was an integral member of the social committee and devising some random team building games in our camps.

It is little comfort for Lauren but she is young and she will have many more opportunities, definitely a player for the future.

As the door closes for Lauren it opens for Laura Guest, a player who really impressed in the camps. I think some of the backs are jealous of her handling skills and side step and she now has more of an opportunity to put them to shame and try to stake a claim in matchday 22!

Training has been going really well with a great buzz in the camp. I find myself at the end of each session saying, ‘is it over already?’

There is a great variety in what we are doing and some new interesting concepts being introduced.

I would imagine anyone who watched some of our skill sessions thought we were mad, we were passing everything, tennis balls, golf balls, swiss balls and even shoes. It made things so much easier when we came back to using the rugby ball.

We played Scotland last weekend in a training game and although we lost I think we learned a lot from the game, we tried numerous different combinations throughout the pitch.

This was to give everyone a chance to show the coaches what they could do but also to see what people offer in different positions and out of their comfort zone.

Now the coaches have given us a framework, we must now perfect it. We have two weekend training sessions left,
timberland hoodies Coghlan Looks Forward To Women's World Cup
with a one day trip to Wales to play them prior to the World Cup.

We also have all our provincial midweek training sessions which have really intensified. I think I lost a lung on the pitch last night in the most horrendous endurance session as they say, ‘no pain, no gain!’

Off the pitch, there is plenty going on. Our hotels are excellent and in our team rooms there is the opportunity to play table tennis, snooker or computer games and there are plenty of mini competitions going, all very amicable and friendly!

But this week we are having a ‘bake off’, basically everyone has to bake/cook a healthy dessert and they will then be graded on it by the other players. I think Joy Neville came up with the idea, as it is her birthday this weekend and this is her way of having a party for herself!

Also we have been invited to the opening of the Aviva Stadium next weekend, it is really nice to be included in what will be a historical day.

The stadium looks fantastic from the pictures so it will be amazing to see what it is like with a game on and a crowd, I’m am sure it will live up to expectations.

Suddenly the world will become more distant unless everyone learns the computer. Although it seems so simple to some, it goes completely over my head. However, the time has come with the closing of our beloved Kamloops Daily the paper I have known since my parents had it mailed to us on Agate Bay Road, some 70 years ago, and the paper my three children delivered on routes in Brocklehurst. My day begins with reading the paper while eating breakfast. Mark and Danna are here bright and early each day. Oh, how I’ll miss the feel of the paper. I’ll miss the columns by Mel (Rothenburger), Richard (Wagamese) and (Jack) Knox, the court reports and local news; also, the TV guide, Dear Abby, sports and comics and the huge crossword on Saturday. To all the staff, I am so sorry. Thank you for your years of service. The past three weeks have given us two huge blows. First to lose our mail service and now our local news that has been a part of us for so long. I for one will be sure to miss you all. FRANCES BAILEY Kamloops

Yet, something awry in the wardrobe can lead to such medical problems as headache, back pain, leg injuries and even high blood pressure, some chiropractors and doctors say.

Writing in the summer issue of The Trends Journal, an international quarterly specializing in trend forecasts, Mitchell Skolnick stated, “A snug necktie and tight collar restrict breathing and reduce the amount of circulation in the arteries to the brain.”

Skolnick doesn’t link neckties to specific disorders but suggests that patients in stressful jobs appear to be asking for trouble by wearing tight collars and ties.

“They come in with a headache, high blood pressure, shoulder pain,” he said. Sometimes they are helped by loosening their tie and collar, he said, explaining that his is a clinical finding, not a scientific study.

Steven C. Harlow, a Newington chiropractor, said he had high blood pressure himself until he quit wearing the same Size 15 1/2 shirt collar he wore in high school. His pressure returned to normal when he didn’t button his collar, he said.

Dr. Kirana Kefalos, a specialist in internal medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven,
timberland mens boots uk Clothes Can Be Hazardous To Your Health
said high blood pressure might be a psychological response to tight neckware but cannot be a physiological result.

What can happen is that a tight collar can cause someone to faint from a lowering of the blood pressure, she said.

Harlow said he has treated patients with other ailments caused by wearing apparel.

The biggest problems in footwear, he said, are worn down shoes. People walking in worn shoes for too long can have problems with their knees, ankles and lower back, he said.

Balkun has been seeing a recent condition in teenagers he calls “the sneakers thing”: They wear their sneakers with laces untied most of the time and develop discomfort in lower back and legs because of shuffling their feet in an unnatural gait.

“Tell them to tie their shoes, and I’ll never see them again,” Balkun said.

Alan S. Kramer, a Bloomfield chiropractor, said a condition called “swayback,” an increase in the curve in the lower back that causes pain, can be caused by high heeled shoes worn by women.

Kefalos said she, too, has seen patients with this problem. Shoes that are too pointy also lead to toe injuries, she said.

Underwear also can be a problem.

Vaginal infections in women can be attributed to underwear that doesn’t breathe well. “Something like nylon is not as good as 100 percent cotton,” Kefalos said.

While the question of whether low sperm counts in men can be caused by too tight underwear is debatable, Kefalos said she has heard of injuries to the scrotum caused by too tight jeans. People should use common sense, she said.

timberland bag Collectors Find Glass Slippers More Than Just A Fairy Tale

mens euro sprint timberland boots Collectors Find Glass Slippers More Than Just A Fairy Tale

Even though Cinderellas glass slippers do not exist, there are numerous types of blown, pressed, colored, clear, frosted and decorated glass slippers, shoes and boots that are of great interest to collectors.

Such charming footsies, as some prefer to call them, were produced in different sizes and were made as novelties, souvenirs, vases, drinking glasses, bottles, inkwells, spoon holders, salt and pepper shakers and perfume containers, as well as holders for candy, matches, bouquets, condiments and thimbles.

Thimble holders, which are scarce, were fashioned like tiny backless or high top shoes, and some rare examples measure but 1/2 inches high or long. There also were little glass shoes and slippers made to hold pincushions.

Of special interest are the desirable glass shoe shaped hand lamps which date from about 1869. The fonts of such lamps, which are shaped like a shoe with an applied handle at the back, were fitted with a kerosene burner made to hold a chimney shade. Such lamps are extremely rare.

Some shoe lamps have been found in clear glass, while at least one has been found in an olive green color. Some are marked Patd June 30, 1869 on the base and Patd Dec. 10, 1867, Venus on the collar, while others are marked Pat. April 19, 1875 or Pat. Mar. 21, 1875 on the collar, which indicates the collars were patented, and perhaps improved, at different times, whereas the lamp itself would have been patented in 1869.

There were numerous other patented glass shoes, too, which include painted slippers with a white lining made by the New England Glass Co. March 23, 1875, as well as 4 1/4 inch long and 2 inch high open bootees made to hold a shoe shaped perfume bottle marked Pat. Oct. 19, 86.

Other examples were milk glass slippers decorated with colored roses marked National Export Exposition, Philadelphia 1899 on the base. centennial.

Other desirable glass slippers, measuring 6 inches long, were produced in a pressed daisy and button design, and were given as souvenirs at the play

The Crystal Slipper in 1891 and are so engraved on the bottom. If you find one, it could be worth between $50 and $75.

Many glass slippers and shoes were embellished with the pressed daisy and button pattern and included examples produced in three sizes by George Duncan Sons of Pittsburgh, with the buttons, bandings and heels flashed in red on the clear part of the pattern. Bryce Bros., another Pittsburgh firm, also produced glass slippers in the popular daisy and button pattern, some of which came mounted on a tray with a fish scale pressed design. Such examples came in blue, amber, yellow and crystal.

Not all shoes were slippers. Some were boots as well as moccasins, baby shoes and booties, bedroom mules, Dutch clogs, oxfords and Victorian high button shoes. Heels on such footwear differed, too, and included high, low, Cuban, spiked, curved, straight, rounded and flat examples.

timberland safety shoes Cola and Skechers Offer New Halos

womens timberland boots Cola and Skechers Offer New Halos

The success of Toms Shoes and Warby Parker eyewear, which give their products to the needy whenever they make a sale to consumers, has inspired other businesses to become more social enterprises too. But it’s tough for large, established brands to really rethink their business models. So I was excited while walking the Licensing Expo show floor today to see two marketers using licensing in innovative ways to not only give back but to help other brands to do the same.

The first program is called Ekocycle.

Lifestyle brands that are willing to manufacture products with at least 25% of recycled materials can license the Ekocycle logo. Coca Cola Company makes their recycled plastic bottles and aluminum cans available for use. I saw a pair of Ekocycle Levi’s Jeans, for example, made partly from eight plastic Coke bottles. Other brand partners include Beats by Dr. Dre, New Era, Adidas and the NBA.

Standard royalty rates apply, but Coca Cola is committed to donating a minimum of $1 million over five years to various recycling and sustainability initiatives.

The program is smart on so many levels. First and foremost, it raises awareness of an important issue: waste and our need to live more sustainable lives. Second, it helps The Coca Cola Company achieve its 2020 goal of becoming a zero waste company. And third, it enables the company, along with its licensees and brand partners, to reach and engage its target millennial audience in a new and authentic way.

The second impressive program I saw on the show floor comes from Skechers. Clearly inspired by Toms Shoes and its “buy one, give one” model, Skechers has created an entire sub brand dedicated to philanthropy: the Bobs Collection line of shoes for women and kids.

At this year’s Licensing Expo, however, Skechers is introducing an interesting licensing program. It is meeting with manufacturers hoping to secure Bobs licensees in a variety of categories including apparel, bedding, luggage and accessories such as bags and eyewear. Licensees will help cover the costs associated with gifting Bobs Collection shoes with each purchase of a licensed product. So if a consumer purchased a Bobs Collection bag, for example, a needy child would still receive a pair of Bobs Collection shoes from Skechers thanks to support from the licensee.

Like Ekocycle, the Skechers program works on multiple levels. It allows Skechers to help more children and inspire more people than they possibly could on their own. And it gives licensees an easy way to give back.

I hope both of these initiatives will inspire other licensors and licensees here in Las Vegas to think of new ways to achieve not just their marketing and sales goals but also to achieve some good.

Because of its hybrid nature combining marketing and manufacturing, the licensing world may be perhaps more aware of global poverty and unsustainable manufacturing processes than other marketing disciplines. That makes it our responsibility to help tackle these problems too. It’s actually an exciting challenge.

timberland boots size 7 Clothes For Zumba

timberland uk ltd Clothes For Zumba

Buying clothes for Zumba can be a lot of fun. Zumba is dymanic and vibrant and Zumba wear reflects that. Pants can be cargo pants, leggings, shorts or capri (three quarter length) so it’s a matter of personal preference. The cargo’s seem to be the most popular because they are loose and comfortable. In fact many Zumba fanatics almost live in their cargo pants. Clothes for Zumba are bright and vibrant. Bright pinks, reds, orange, green, yellow, purple and multi coloured. Prices are pretty much the same as any other reasonable quality pants so you shouldn’t need to pay over the top.

When it comes to shirts, there is just about every colour and colour mix imaginable. Tops can be hoodies, sleeveless hoodies, shirts, t shirts, vest tops, tank tops or track jackets. Sometimes Zumba classes are outdoors,
timberland boots size 7 Clothes For Zumba
depending on whether your local groups have facilities for that. So for outdoor classes, warmer clothes for Zumba would be hoodies and track jackets and cargo pants

Of course there is a ton of bright coloured accessories to go with your Zumba pants and tops. You’ve got headbands, bracelets, necklaces, caps, mittens, scarfs, beanies, socks, bags and backpacks. The great thing about Zumba wear is that you can mix and match and there are no set rules about what you can wear with what. This is one of the things that makes clothes for Zumba so much fun!

The one item that’s really important to get right is your shoes. Zumba is an energetic form of dance and you must have good shoes made specifically for the purpose. Dance shoes are best and you can get some great ones designed for Zumba. The best ones will have very little tread on the ball of the foot and will have cushioning and support multi directional movement. Dance fitness shoes are good and cross trainers work well too. So choosing the right shoes will give you a better experience which will in turn motivate you to do more and lose more weight, get fitter and tone up your body. The other thing that’s adviseable is to remove the insoles of your shoes and replace them with an athletic insole. This will give your shoes a longer life and will give you extra comfort.

There’s no need to spend a fortune on clothes for Zumba. Just the basics will do to begin with. As long as you have the correct footware, a pair of cargo pants or leggings that will allow you to move freely and a shirt or hoodie, you are good to go. Plus you can look for the best prices. Then you can always add to your Zumba wardrobe later on.

All updates Arts Awards Birthdays Celebrity Late night Movies Music Politics TVThe “Late Show” and “Late Night” hosts each addressed Trump’s latest beef against basketball superdad LaVar Ball on their shows Monday night. Ball is the father of LiAngelo Ball, one of the three UCLA basketball players who were detained in China after being accused of shoplifting.

Trump, upset that the Ball patriarch dismissed his role in securing the players’ release, spent the weekend raging against LaVar on Twitter. The president even tweeted that Ball’s attitude makes him wish he left the threeplayers who actually thanked Trump for helping them in jail in China.

For those who don’t follow basketball, “Ball has made a career out of baiting people to get publicity for his company Big Baller Brand,” explained Colbert,

who also described him as “a publicity hungry troll.”

And Ball knew exactly what to do to get a reaction from Trump.

“Pretending not to know him is the meanest thing you can do to Donald Trump,” explained Colbert. “Knowing who he is is his whole thing. That’s why he puts his name on all of his buildings and one of his kids.”

Meyers also could not contain his glee that “petulant man child in chief” Trump had finally met his match.

“This is the feud we’ve been waiting for,” said Meyers. “This isn’t Marco Rubio trying to win at Donald Trump’s game. Donald Trump’s game is LaVar Ball’s game. And LaVar Ball knows there is no better way to troll Trump than by pretending to not know who he is.”

But in true Meyers form, the “Late Night” host explained why Trump’s latest Twitter tirade is actually problematic.

“Not only are these tweets childish and embarrassing, they’re also part of a disturbing pattern,” explained Meyers. “Trump is clearly a thug and a wannabe dictator who lashes out at anyone who isn’t sufficiently obedient.”

Experiences in the Middle East Clothing and Culture

The Abaya head to toe covering for the women of Middle East. lt has become a fashion statement. You can even buy haute couture abayas. The women do not see wearing abayas as a form of oppression, but as a form of individual liberation. Abayas for normal daytime wear are usually plain or have simple designs. Abayas for evening wear are more elaborate, with different cuts and intricate designs. Abayas for special occasions such as weddings and Eid are so exquisite that they almost look like black gowns. Diamante, Swarovski crystals, leather, lace, denim and fur abayas are laden with everything imaginable. You can even get sporty abayas!

Many young women are pursuing higher studies and careers in fashion design: one graduate is now working in Paris for Valentino. They are setting up their own abaya businesses and are opening their own boutiques.

The majority of Middle Eastern women have excellent taste in clothing and accessories and follow fashion as women tend to do all over the world. Just because tradition and society expects them to wear an abaya and sheila, it does not mean that they put on the first thing they see when they wake up in the morning.

Women of the Middle East are some of the world’s best groomed women, with regular visits to salons and spas, waxing body and facial hair, threading their eyebrows and getting manicures and pedicures. Under those sheilas is hair professionally cut, dyed and highlighted.

The women love to shop and they sport haute couture bags and accessories, chic shoes and fashionable outfits under their Abayas.

I had the pleasure of working in Abu Dhaubi and Dubai on my first trip to the Middle East several years ago. Dubai is filled with people that wear clothing from all cultural backgrounds from the three piece British tailored suit, to the sari, Abaya and western attire,

Abu Dhabi seemed to be less influenced by western culture and everyone of the UAE Nationals that attended my first seminar arrived in the traditional attire of their culture. I on the other hand had worn a lovely skirted suit. This was not my best choice.

My next visit to the Middle East included a trip to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi. I received a special invitation to visit Riyadh from the Aljoud Institute for Women.

This required two visits to the Saudi Embassy in Dubai with my Canadian passport, new photo and the appropriate amount of money. Upon entering the Embassy,

I received a lot of attention and it was not favorable. I was waiting in the men’s area of the Embassy and they were gesturing me to leave/move away. I then discovered that there was a women’s room. Finally my Visa was approved.

The plane from Dubai to Riyadh was boarding and I asked the flight attendant when I should put on the Abaya. Her response was “it is not mandatory however, the Arabs would feel more comfortable if you honored their culture and traditions.” So, I donned the Abaya and wondered if I would ever be on American soil again.

I flew in to Riyadh and was guided in to the VIP rooms of the airport upon arrival. Chandeliers, prayer rugs and coffee in brass pots with lovely gold rimmed, china cups took me by surprise. Two men approached me with a sign bearing my name so I followed them. They took my passport and my baggage claim tags. Things were not looking good. Then in to a car with people I did not know, that did not speak English and they had my passport and luggage.

Arriving at the hotel as the guest of King Abdullah, I was greeted by a French staff member. He spoke perfect English. My first words to him were “I am counting on you personally to take care of me.” His words “yes, Madam, you are perfectly safe here.”

I had a lovely suite, butler and wonderful service. I wore the Abaya, ate in the family section of the hotel dining room and not one man looked at me. It is considered disrespectful to look at a woman in their culture.

I had the pleasure of teaching etiquette classes to the women and children. After the classes, some of the women snapped open their Abaya and much to my surprise they were wearing stunning designer garments. Well educated, several degrees, speaking several languages fluently and they were fashionable.

I also had the pleasure of a visit to King Abdullah’s Palace as a guest of my host, the owner of the Aljoud Institute for Women.

I am now quite comfortable in the Middle Eastern culture and have had the pleasure of many trips. My client list includes executives from United Gulf Steel, Aramco, Emirate Technical Associates, Al Jassim Engineering Consulting, Habibsons Bank,

Qatar Airways and Emirates Airlines. My clients also include members of the Ruling Family of Dubai and King Abdullah’s family members. I am honored and delighted to have enjoyed the people and the culture.
