timberland tall boots closet for the latest fashion trends
According to Niemkiewicz, when she and owner of Tallulah, Kim Minsavage, went to New York City to look at the upcoming fashion trends; they saw a lot of pants, made from sweat pant material, with tapered ankles paired with a dress shirt and high heels. This look, they said, is recycled from the 1980s as is the store line WILDFOX.
is very trendy and a sarcastic brand, Niemkiewicz said. run seasonal clothing for example a sweater for Christmas has a toy solider on it or a shirt for the New Year has champagne glasses. They run large and roomy and are supposed to hang on the body like it was in the 80s. The sweatshirt is oversized and is paired with leggings. An outfit Cyndi Lauper would wear in a Just Wanna Have Fun video, she said. The trend is less direct then the Says Relax shirts but is hitting the same angles.
can believe leggings are back in style, said Anne Boychuck, a customer from Bearcreek. threw all mine out and I had some great ones that were crushed velvet or leopard print. My girls are going into my closet for looks. She said how she couldn believe cowboy boots are back in style.
was sure that would never happen, she said.
Colleen Cadden, an employee at Modish in Scranton, said she has seen a change in girl formal wear.
am just a senior in college, so it was only five years ago I was going to dances, but it really has changed, she said. I was in school it was all about the long, puffy ball gown but now girls are coming in for short dresses and a little more revealing choices. Modish also carried gaucho style pants as well as flowing, patterned pants, styled from the 1960s.
Another trend Niemkiewicz saw in New York City were jumpsuits. This spring, keep those eyes peeled for the 1970s inspired trend with a twist. This time it not for hitting the disco floor, but everyday wear. Spring will also bring back the loved and effortless sundresses paired with an ankle boot. This trend,
especially with Timberland boots, was hot in the and will make a funky return this year.
look is a very casual and athletic look, Niemkiewicz said. is all about the comfort level and the softness of the clothing. Also, there really are no more rules in fashion. You can wear white after labor day. There are no limits. In the past five to ten years, men clothing has held the same, boxy basic shape said Niemkiewicz. The structured looked left the fashion world in the 1960s when men clothing transitioned into a grunge phase. However, the European tailored look is back and better then ever.
is not a lot of bulk and grunge, Niemkiewicz said. there are no more pleats for men. It used to be, that men wearing high end clothing were the professionals, but now the cliques are gone. Everyone from rappers to polo players are wearing skinny jeans. In the past, every night people trusted Walter Cronkite to deliver the news. His mustache graced people living rooms but in the and the trend faded.
Flash forward to 2015 and the mustache isn only trendy, it a money rasier as well. The mustache has been reclaimed and it is a trend that can easily be shaved off. It can be found everywhere, besides faces; on coffee cups, sweaters, T shirts, straws, pretty much anything with a printable surface.
and moustaches are back in, said Peter Sartorio, owner of Sartorio and Sons Barber Shop in Wilkes Barre.
New hairstyle for men is leaving more on top and cutting or even shaving the sides shorter, said Sartorio. This look, including the facial hair is recycled from the 1920s. The Detroit rapper, Macklemore, is an example of the trend. Follow her on Twitter Sameeou or on Instagram Sameeann.
